An Update

It has been a week (almost to the minute) that I landed back in the UK at Heathrow. It is hard to believe really. The week has gone by really quickly but I still feel like I am only here on holiday and am going back to the US next week or something. Maybe that explains why I stopped unpacking less than halfway through. My room is a bit of a disaster area just now. I'm trying to ignore it and step around all the mess...... No, I'm going to try and make a start on it all today.... I think.

In the UK I am loving:
  • Old Jamaica Ginger Beer. Classic.
  • Watching Taggart episodes that I missed on t'internet.
  • My new car. His name is Mitchell and he isn't a Christian but is thinking very seriously about it (That is for Beth...... In-jokes are probably not the best thing to put on blogs but I couldn't resist this one!)
  • Hattie. Sweet, little old dog!
  • Sharing a brownie dessert with Sarah that is meant for 6 people.
  • Ceilidh dancing. F.U.N!
  • Heir Hunters. Seriously, that TV show is awesome.
  • Wimbledon..... until Murray got beaten and we were overrun with Americans. (No offence, of course!)
  • Crumpets with butter and Marmite.
  • Did I mention my car already?
  • Having meals cooked for me. Yummy!
  • Singing loudly in church.
  • Being able to sing loudly whenever I want because my parents won't mind about the racket!
  • Seeing relatives that I haven't seen for a while.
  • Proper Cadbury chocolate.
  • Greg's Cheese and Onion Pasties (I'm a little ashamed that my list contains so much food. Maybe I should just go and have breakfast so that food is no longer on the brain!)
  • Geocaching with The Old Man of Stoer.
  • looking forward to Keswick on Sunday with Beth.

I am missing:

  • my girls. Oh, how I miss my girls!
  • my Osbornes.
  • Westchester OPC.
  • Red Velvet Cupcakes.
  • Broadway shows (I'm itching to see The Little Mermaid again!).
  • Urban caching with Chen Li in NYC.
  • Sicilian pizza.
  • Collecting Snapple lids with Beth. Beth, I would like to direct you here.
  • Thumper.
  • Say Yes To The Dress.
  • Rolling my eyes whenever baseball is mentioned. Blah, blah, blah, Yankees, blah.
  • Laughing with Julie.
  • Being able to rent a car and drive down to Carlisle.
  • Star stalking.
  • Grand Central Terminal.
  • Cold Stone Creamery. Oh, my!

I still feel homesick for New York. I miss it but it is nice to be home and see friends and family again.
